I can’t believe it’s almost autumn again. I love autumn—it’s my favorite season. It’s a time when the leaves start changing colors. They go from those vibrant greens to golden yellows and finally deep reds. Why do I love this beautiful season? It always reminds me that everything is changing. And that’s a good thing!
People may look at the leaves changing colors and falling off the branches and saying to themselves: Everything is dying, winter is coming. Not for me. I look at this time of year as a renewal. Everything changes, right? That’s why that particular leaf has to fall off the tree—because there’s a new leaf waiting for its beginning.
Every time I look at these leaves, I feel the cycle of life and the many changes that occur. Everything is in constant motion and in a constant flux. So, if there’s anything in your life that is difficult or challenging or painful, please know that things will change.
Some of us hang on to the pain, the relationships, the turmoil, the past. Just as that leaf has to let go, that’s what you need to do. Let go. Let it all go. Let the change occur and make way for a new birth. A new beginning is waiting to happen. It’s waiting just for you.
Is there something in your life that you’re holding onto? This week, do one thing to move forward and begin to let this situation, relationship or whatever is it—GO! Do whatever it takes. Maybe it’s therapy, maybe it’s talking to a trusted friend who understands, maybe it’s a move, maybe it’s a conversation that you finally need to have.
Think back for a second. Has there ever been a time in your life when something happened and you thought to yourself: How am I ever going to get through this? But you did get through it. And you will get through it. You’re stronger than you think. Your soul is stronger than you can imagine.
Sure, we hold on because we’re afraid of change. But this is a time to be brave, take that chance and let go. Through endings, there are always beginnings. As you look at the leaves changing colors this week, be grateful that they’re falling away so that new ones can come forth.
Life has its ups and downs. That’s what living is all about. There is a new beginning waiting for you. Open your heart and soul and let it in. Embrace the change! Celebrate the goodness that happens. Celebrate the new YOU!
