Hi Everyone and welcome to my Soul Inspirations newsletter: “What Happened to Your Perfect Plan?”
I saw this image on Facebook the other day and it really got me thinking. I’m sure you can all relate to this scenario. We all have the perfect plan set in our heads for a particular direction or decision or purpose, right? But while we aim for a straight shot from point A to point B, suddenly life steps in and drop all kinds of obstacles in our way. Or as the familiar saying goes: “The best laid plans often go awry.”
Take a look back at all the plans you had for yourself…the career you wanted to pursue, the goals you wanted to accomplish, what you wanted to be when you grew up. Did you follow the path you set out for yourself or did you veer way off in a completely different direction?
If someone had told me back when I was just starting out that someday I’d be a renowned psychic medium and author standing on a stage in front of hundreds of people, I would have thought that they were out of their minds!
We may all have a good plan in place for how our life is going to turn out, but then something happens. We worry about what everyone else is doing and what other people think. We get bogged down with details and expectations. We put our own true feelings aside and go with the crowd rather than honor our deepest desires. Or maybe some unforeseen event happens that leads us to a new path.
When I look at the image above and see the person pictured under “God’s Plan” with all the roadblocks and red flags—that’s the person I want to be. Why? Because each time I take the path where I have to sweat a little more, try a different turn, change my direction, figure out a new way to get over a hurdle or just follow my heart, I can find adventure and excitement and learn something more about myself and the power I have within me.
I’m not saying to live life haphazardly without any plans. Just be prepared to follow your instincts and your intuition when something unexpected may come up, slow you down or move you in another direction.
That’s when you really get to live in the moment and be who you truly are.
