What Does Soul Windex Look Like

As you know, I’m all about the soul. It’s one of my favorite topics for teaching and it’s the lifeline of my beliefs. Oftentimes, my students and friends send me stories and sayings they’ve heard about the soul. I found a thought-provoking one today that I want to share with you.

“What Does Soul Windex Look Like?”

Isn’t this a great question? I love it! Of course, we all know about Windex® and how it’s one of the best cleaners for those streaky windows, right? But to put it together with the soul to show how we can get more clarity—what a brilliant analogy!

This intriguing premise came from the book Dusk, Night, Dawn, by Anne Lamott. In it, Anne explores those tough questions that many of us grapple with in today’s challenging times. How do we recapture the confidence we once had in the world and in the future as we sometimes stumble through hard times?

Anne Lamott is also a big fan of the soul, which she describes as “the deepest part of us, the love in the very heart of us.” Though, she admits there are times when our souls can get “smudged” by the bombardment of today’s data stream, as well as our crazy thoughts.

What happens when events in our life get in the way of our soul? What do we do when someone says something that robs us of our confidence?  What about those days when we feel doubtful about our divine goodness? How do we wipe away the dirt, the dust, the gossip, the bad news, and the negative thoughts so we can see clearly again?

How do you ward off the overload of negativity? How can you clear the smudges off your relationships? What would you use to wipe away those stressful challenges that are clouding your way?
