Do It with Daffodils

I believe in the power of flowers, especially daffodils. This probably comes from my studies in flower clairsentience and psychic ability when I attended Arthur Findlay College in the UK.

In one of my mediumship classes, each student was asked to bring in a flower and place it on the professor’s desk. These flowers were then arranged in one large vase at the head of the classroom. None of us knew who had brought in which flower. There were so many different shapes, sizes and colors.

We were then asked to choose one that we were drawn to the most. By holding a flower that someone else had held, we could feel the energy that passed between the two living things. For this exercise, we used psychometry.

Psychometry (which translates as “measure of the soul” and also called “the psychic touch”) is the practice of holding someone’s personal possession and then using your psychic ability to sense or experience the nature and history of the object or article. It’s as if you’re somehow feeling, seeing or hearing through the power of touch and receiving impressions. Remember, everything is made up of energy and has its own auric emanations.

I guess that’s why I enjoy giving flowers to people. They have such a powerful energy to them and they always remind me of eternal life. Daffodils are the flowers that continue to bloom after every winter and push their way through the soil and show their radiant color in Spring. Whenever my favorite flower—daffodils—are in bloom and I see them at the store, I buy a bunch of them. Some I keep, some I give out to neighbors and some I even give to strangers who may need some of their wonderful energy.

I remember last spring, I was picking up some daffodils at the store, and I got talking to a woman who also loves this bright yellow flower. When she noticed them in my basket, I told her that for me, daffodils are a sign of renewal, hope and the afterlife. She smiled like she knew exactly what I meant. After I checked out at the register, I walked back to her and handed her one of the bunches of daffodils and said, “This one’s for you.”

I’ll never forget her reaction. She looked up, held them close to her heart and slowly started to tear up. Maybe this woman had just lost her husband. Maybe someone in her family moved away. Maybe she’s about to start a new beginning. Maybe she just needed to know that someone cared. That’s the power of flowers!
